Dr. Keshav Raj Sigdel is a highly accomplished rheumatologist in Nepal, renowned for his expertise in internal medicine, rheumatology and immunology. His journey in medicine started with an MBBS from Zhengzhou University, China (2001-2006), followed by a clinical internship at Patan Hospital, Nepal.
From 2007 to 2010, he served as a Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS), where he gained hands-on experience in patient care. His dedication and skill led him to become Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and ICU (2010-2011).To deepen his specialization in rheumatology, Dr. Sigdel pursued an MD in Internal Medicine at Xiamen University, China (2012-2015), earning a prestigious full provincial government scholarship. He then completed a Clinical Fellowship in Rheumatology and Immunology at The First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University (2015-2016), training under some of the world’s leading experts.
Dr. Sigdel’s commitment to advancing medical research led to a groundbreaking study on Serum Cytokines and Lupus Nephritis, which was published in the SCI Journal Mediators of Inflammation in 2016. His contributions have played a vital role in enhancing rheumatology care in Nepal.

Current Roles & Contributions
Since 2016, Dr. Keshav Raj Sigdel has been serving as a Consultant Physician and Rheumatologist in Nepal at Aarogya Health Home, Nepal’s first superspecialist center for rheumatic diseases. His expertise in rheumatology has also extended to Om Hospital, Kathmandu (2016-2017), before he returned to Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) as a Lecturer in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine (2017-2021). Dr. Sigdel is currently an Assistant Professor at PAHS, where he plays a pivotal role in medical education, mentoring the next generation of doctors, and conducting impactful research in rheumatology.
Dr. Sigdel has been a committed and active contributor to Nepal’s medical community. He serves as an Executive Member of the Nepal Rheumatology Association (NRA) and has earned the title of International Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR) in 2019. As a Rheumatologist in Nepal, he continues to elevate the standard of care for autoimmune diseases and musculoskeletal conditions. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, Edinburgh) and a member of the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis (GRAPPA, 2021), further underscoring his dedication to advancing the field of rheumatology in Nepal.
